Bedposted

20121125-153457.jpg
I’ve started using Bedposted to track our romps. We’re both spreadsheet nerds, so seeing pie charts makes me giddy. I just wish it had a mobile app, or at least a website that worked worth a damn on the iPad.

Yes, there is such a thing as a spreadsheet nerd. I had gestational diabetes with both pregnancies, and created spreadsheets that automatically calculated how far above or below the threshold my blood sugar was, what the average was for the day/week, and how many carbs I was eating per meal. My doctor asked for a copy so she could give it to her other patients.

Anyway, the most interesting stat so far is that we don’t seem to do much on the weekends. I never realized that, but I guess that makes sense, as recently we’ve been spending whole days out with the kids, and end up exhausted at the end of the day after wrestling with grumpy, overly-tired babies.

Are there any other apps or websites that are good for this sort of thing? I’d love the ability to choose tags from a list instead of having to type them out every time, because I end up forgetting to add certain tags I’m trying to keep up with, and it skews the data. I’ve looked around, but can’t find anything else that even comes close.

  1. Makes sense you couldn’t find something like that for your iwhatever because it seems that Apple is Blue Pill :-)

    • HAH! Touché. I tend to disagree though… I’ve got an Android right now, and I’ve owned a few others, and I *hate* them. I love the openness of the app market and the flexibility of the system, but when you take the same operating system and spread it out across different manufacturers, you end up with bugs and spotty performance out the wazoo. Whereas I love my iPad and my iPod, because I *know* they work. There may be issues, but at least I know what I’m getting. With new Android phones, I feel like I’m gambling.

My next phone will be an iPhone, and it’ll probably be the last phone I own until it physically falls apart. :P

If that’s blue pill, I shall hold onto that bit of blue-pillness with white knuckles. :D

  2. I knew you must be a fellow nerd deep down. I love the spreadsheet. We have a honeymoon jar next to our bed that we put a dollar in every time for a future honeymoon. Seeing that pile of dollars does wonders for my husbands ego and I get to work towards my goal of a Paris 2nd Honeymoon.

  3. What a great site!

  4. Great site! I may have to try it for fun. If I had my way, I’d be romping every night but my “H” gets tired I think… or I just have a bigger sex drive then he does?
I’m pretty nerdy too. I used to obsess over myfitnesspal charting and recently just started it back up.
I also data entry at home, so why not add in ONE more chart! :)

    • You might be higher drive than him, it wouldn’t be unheard of :) I love MyFitnessPal, I used it a lot while I was nursing, but I’ve fallen off the horse since. I strongly suspect I’m not eating enough during the day.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you land the at-home data entry gig? I’ve been trying to find one, but everything I find seems to be a scam.

  5. I love this! Husband loves to joke about how we have had a once a day average since we met, and he is out of town Monday morning to Friday afternoon most weeks. I’d love to see if he is right.

  6. I am having total chart envy…and jar envy:) Can’t wait to try this…my Levi will LOOOOOve it as he is a total spreadsheet nerd…he actually created a spreadsheet for my contractions with kid 1. He would plug in the start time and end time and it would tell him the length of the contraction and the time between contractions…it was really cute until they got a little longer and then a little closer together and then it wasn’t cute anymore. Then I wanted to shove his spreadsheet….well, you get the picture:)

  7. Fantastic! Thanks.

  8. The fact that this web site exists makes me laugh. Please tell me they have an option for “doggy style while watching Star Wars.”

  9. Cool site. I’ll have to check it out. There are some apps out there like Sexulator for iphone but they don’t appear to be as detailed as Bedposted. I haven’t tried any of them though.

My wife is a spreadsheet nerd too. Similar to you, her spreadsheet to track her ovulation when we were trying to get pregnant was handed over to her doctor for other patients to use.

  10. I’m sorry to hear about your gestational diabetes. I wish every patient was as compliant and willing to make the changes you did. I’m speaking from a nurse’s perspective by the way.

  11. OK, I signed up for Bedposted and put in our first entry. I’ve never kept track before, so I actually don’t know exactly what our weekly average is. It tends to come in spurts (heh) since my husband is away for work at times.

  12. [...] back, Red Pill Wifey suggested a site called Bed Posted.  It’s a site that lets you track your sex life.  Why would anyone other [...]
